science and technology news for students, Iguanas, a genus of lizards, live in the southern part of the North American continent, the northern part of the South American continent, and the Caribbean islands.
This lizard travels 8,000 kilometers

A specific species of lizard of this species is found only in the Fiji Islands.
This island is isolated in the middle of the ocean between the Australian continent and South America. Scientists are surprised how these lizards came to this island, which is so far away and surrounded by the ocean.
Some scientists had previously thought that they must have swum across the sea from South America to reach these islands. However, a recent study by the University of California has provided another surprising piece of information.
That is, genetically the lizards living in the Fiji Islands are not related to the South American lizards. Instead, they are related to those living in North America. Therefore, scientists say that they must have swum across the sea from North America, especially from states such as California, to reach these islands.
What is surprising is that they have swum nearly 8,000 kilometers to reach this island. The iguana is the only land vertebrate that can swim such a distance in the sea.
They can usually survive for long periods without food or water. Scientists believe that this ability must have helped them to travel such a distance.
Life Born Through Electricity
The study conducted by Miller Urey is very important in understanding how life might have originated on this earth. In this study, when electricity was sent into a cell containing air and water, some biological molecules including amino acids were formed.
From this, the idea was raised that life may have been produced through lightning. However, many problems arose in accepting this.
Researchers from Stanford University in the United States have said that the production of life may not be due to a single lightning strike, but rather to ‘microlightning’. When water droplets are sprayed into the air, an electric current is generated between them. This is called microlightning.
Scientists did the Miller Urey study in a slightly different way. They filled a cell with all the gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. They sprayed water droplets into it.
Then the droplets acquired a positive charge and the smaller droplets acquired a negative charge. When they approached, a very small amount of electricity (microlightning) was produced between them.
Since this was not visible to the naked eye, they recorded it with high-tech cameras. When this electricity hit the air, biological molecules were produced.
So it is the same. This study says that life must have been produced by electricity between water droplets in various places in the world.
Planet without density
Scientists have discovered two new planets 250 light years from Earth. They orbit a star called TOI 1453. Of these, TOI 1453b is a planet slightly larger than Earth and made of rocks. It orbits its star in just 4.3 days.
Another planet, TOI 1453c, is 2.2 times larger than Earth. It has a very low density. No planet of this size has a density. In that way, it has surprised scientists.
One group of scientists believes that the reason for its low density is that its atmosphere is filled with hydrogen gas. Another group of scientists believes that this planet is completely filled with water. That is why it has such a low density. They are studying this planet with the James Webb telescope.
